Capacity (SWL)

The safe working load is the maximum load at which the chain and attachments can be used according to the security norms       applied in various countries. The ratio between the breaking load and the capacity is 4:1 (EEC Machine Directive 2006/42/CE).

Warning

The capacity indicated is not valid if any of the following factors occur:
• twisting
• corrosion and wear
• jerking of loads
• permanent deformation due to overloading or due to use at temperatures superior to +200° C
• inclination angle superior to the one prescribed
• different use from those to which chain is destined

Maintenance and inspection procedure

It is important to inspect chain sling regularly.
Before inspecting clean the chains in order to detect:
1      twists or bends
2      nicks or gouges
3      elongation
4      reduced thickness of links diameter

N.B.
When slings are used in choke, please consider a 20% reduction of the capacity of the sling used at straight pull.
